Police were called to the Royal Farms in the city’s Frankford neighborhood on Tuesday shortly before 5:30 a.m., according to 6abc. The truck driver had stopped at the store to make a delivery when it was taken, the media outlet noted.
The driver tracked the box truck to the Kensington neighborhood, where police recovered it, CBS Philadelphia reported. An unspecified number of doughnuts and an iPhone were missing from the truck, the outlet said.
The theft reportedly occurred hours after another cargo theft in South Philadelphia, where police said several people stole part of a pallet of Black Angus beef ribs from a tractor-trailer.
Authorities said the incidents remain under investigation.
