READING, Pa. – Reading will light its City Hall red for the next week in honor of the Reading Fightin Phils winning the Eastern League Championship.
The Fightin Phils brought the title home to Reading for the first time since 1995, the city said in a news release.
“Congratulations to the Reading Fightin Phils on winning the Eastern League Championship,” said Mayor Eddie Morán.
“It’s a great accomplishment for the team and a great moment for our city. We’re already talking about how we can celebrate this with the community. It’s still early, but we’re looking at some ideas and will share more once we have something in place. For now, we’re lighting up City Hall red and celebrating our champions.”
The city says it will share more information about a potential community celebration as plans come together.
