An 81-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in Erie on Wednesday night, according to the Erie County Coroner’s Office.
The crash occurred just before 8 p.m. at the intersection of West 38th Street and Liberty Street. The victim was identified as David Grossi, who was homeless.
Grossi was transported to UPMC Hamot for treatment but later died from his injuries at 11:27 p.m., according to Deputy Coroner John Maloney.
Authorities are now working to locate any family members of the victim. Anyone with information that could help identify or contact relatives is asked to call the Erie County Coroner’s 24-hour line at (814) 452-2911.
