Stroudsburg Native and now Pittsburgh Steeler, Sebastian Joseph-Day, continues to give back the community he is living in whatever NFL team he is playing for.
The 31-year-old this week hosted a community day at the Boys & Girls Club in Pittsburgh where he read Jalen Hurt’s book “Better than a Touchdown”. With the elementary aged children, he played sharks and minnows, even drawing up some game plans with the kids. Then, with the teens, he held a Q&A where the group asked thoughtful questions about football, life, and chasing their dreams. The Rutgers product loves giving back.
Sebastian Joseph-Day, Pittsburg Steeler(Stroudsburg) says, “This is what it’s all about. You know, using your blessings to be a blessing and just, you know, just trying to inspire and, you know, just give back in any way that you can. I think it’s very important. You know, I truly believe that, you know, the youth is is the future. And I was blessed, you know, I did have some people that even though, you know, there are a lot of people that didn’t think I, you know, I could do what I’m doing now.
I did have people that were able to come and give back and like, have words of encouragement and affirmations for me. So, you know, again, it’s not about me, it’s about them. And I just hope that what I did could just hopefully, like, you know, help them be brave enough to chase whatever they want. “
The Steelers host Cincinnati at home this Sunday at 1pm.
