David Edward Zaffino, born June 18, 1963 to the late Samuel Zaffino and Rose Wienczkowski Zaffino, passed away on September 23, 2026. David celebrated 42 years with his beloved wife Corrine McCracken Zaffino this year.
David was an active member of Elevate Church. His favorite Bible verse was James 1:2. While he basks in the glow of heaven, we will strive to find the joy in this struggle.
David completed a two-year MET degree and a BA in Plastics Engineering from Penn State Behrend. He worked hard in his manufacturing career and excelled at several local companies. He was most excited about his newest adventure teaching at Beaumont Industries – American Institute of Manufacturing. He greatly looked forward to retiring in a few years to travel and enjoy his family.
In addition to his wife and his mother, David is survived by his four children, the pride and joy of his life: Kyle of San Diego, CA, Stephen (Kat) of Erie, Geoffrey and Carolyn of Waterford, PA; their friends who became like sons and daughters, especially Nicholas Miller; his siblings, Sam (Liz), Beth Cacchione (Phil), and Jerry (Michele); and many nieces and nephews.
David was active as a leader of BSA, helping to guide Kyle and Geoffrey to Eagle. He supported Carolyn in GSA all the way to the Gold Award. He taught her to build a campfire, change a tire, and check the oil in the car, right along with the boys!
David loved people and considered everyone he met to be a friend. He enjoyed celebrating people at parties, from throwing a surprise birthday party for his wife to huge shindigs for his children’s graduations and Stephen and Kat’s wedding.
In addition to his father, David is preceded in death by his siblings Dennis Zaffino and Robin Silvis, and his beloved dog Gizmo, who passed away on September 1.
Words cannot describe how deeply Dave will be missed. John 3:16: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not parish but have eternal life.
