Erie police officers who on the evening of July 26 responded to an East 13th Street apartment to investigate a reported domestic disturbance said they found a woman under a blanket in an upstairs bedroom.
The woman, who was bleeding from the mouth, muttered, “He tried to kill me,” an investigating officer wrote in the initial criminal complaint filed against her accused attacker.
The woman’s words were prophetic.
