Days following the ceremony back in October, the plaque gained attention after Keaton’s first name was misspelled as “Micheal.” The plaque previously read, in part: “Under his stage name Micheal Keaton, Michael John Douglas is credited as appearing in nearly 100 movies and TV series, ranging from hit comedies like ‘Night Shift’ and ‘Mr. Mom’ to award-winning dramas such as ‘Spotlight’ and ‘Dopesick.'”Nancy Polinsky Johnson, executive director of the Pittsburgh Walk of Fame, initially felt on top of the world during the event, but said back in October that she was distraught upon discovering the error.”All that good feeling, all that vibe that had been built up just left me, and I was initially extremely distraught because no matter how it happened ultimately, the responsibility lies with me,” Polinsky Johnson said. She extended an apology to Keaton, saying, “I’m so sorry that this happened. He was so gracious when he was here; he was so expressive about his love for Pittsburgh and the people here. I can only hope he shows some grace and forgive me for this faux pas.”Now, the plaque shows the correct spelling: “Michael Keaton, Michael John Douglas is credited as appearing in nearly 100 movies and TV series, ranging from hit comedies like ‘Night Shift’ and ‘Mr. Mom’ to award-winning dramas such as ‘Spotlight’ and ‘Dopesick.'”It is unclear when the plaque was replaced.
