WYOMISSING, Pa. – Stem cell donations and the fight against leukemia were at the center of attention in Berks County on Saturday.
Community members and organizers gathered to show support and help spread the word about donor registration.
Nearly 20 years after receiving a lifesaving stem cell transplant, Reading-area resident Tom Hoch organized a “rebirthday” to mark his recovery and to encourage others to consider registering as potential donors.
The donor registration drive was held with the nonprofit DKMS at RE/MAX of Reading in Wyomissing.
