Woman accused of running over ex-boyfriend in Pittsburgh with child in car
PITTSBURGH —
A woman is facing charges after authorities say she hit her ex-boyfriend with a vehicle in Hanover Township Sunday.
Officers were called to Stranahan Street in Pittsburgh’s Homewood North neighborhood for a man that had been hit by a vehicle.
When they arrived, they found a man in the street with ‘significant injuries to his lower extremities.’ He was taken to the hospital and was last known to be in critical condition.
According to the criminal complaint, the vehicle that hit the man was in the middle of the road, with blood and medical debris left on a nearby walkway.
Officers also say they saw what looked like “a possible piece of bone or human remains” left behind.
Authorities say they interviewed a witness who was a passenger when the man was allegedly hit by his ex-girlfriend, Diamond Thomas.
According to a criminal complaint, surveillance footage captured the victim running away from the vehicle when it drove directly at him and hit him.
The vehicle then went over the victim’s body and drove up an embankment, before backing up.
Diamond allegedly got out of the vehicle after hitting her ex-boyfriend and removed a small child from the car.
Authorities say she did not stay on scene and is facing multiple charges including attempted homicide, aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of children.
