Erie County Democrats on Saturday re-elected Jeremy Zellner to an eighth two-year term as party chair.

The Erie County Democratic Committee said Zellner won more than 85 percent of the weighted vote at Saturday’s biennial reorganizational meeting. Zellner beat two challengers during the first round of voting.

Party treasurer Olivia Owens was also re-elected to a second term.

Four new vice chairs were also elected, including county legislature chair Tim Meyers and West Seneca Democratic chair Amy Kobler.

“When I spoke to my fellow Erie County Democrats today, I talked about the big victories we have celebrated,” Zellner, 48, said in a statement. “And, yes, the defeats we sometimes endured.

“After all these years, I am still honored to have the faith, friendship, and support of a great committee, and still as optimistic and excited about our future as I was my first day on the job. Through all the challenges and changes of the past 10 years in particular, we have forged a united party capable of weathering internal debates and emerging stronger than ever before.”
