With fall arriving and Halloween just around the corner, families got an early start on the spooky season Monday evening during a special trunk-or-treat event along Erie’s West Bayfront Parkway.

The festivities were part of the final Gas ‘N’ Gears Cruise of the summer, which transformed the popular car show into a family-friendly Halloween celebration. The event got underway around 4 p.m. and continued through 8 p.m., drawing children and families eager to collect candy and admire the decorated vehicles.

While the cruise is typically known for its lineup of classic cars, muscle cars, and custom vehicles, this year’s season finale featured a festive twist. Participants decked out their cars with Halloween-themed decorations, creating a colorful backdrop for trick-or-treating as youngsters made their way from vehicle to vehicle collecting treats.

Organizers said the event is a fun way to wrap up the summer cruise season while bringing the community together for a celebration that appeals to all ages. The combination of eye-catching automobiles, creative decorations, and plenty of candy helped make the evening a memorable kickoff to the fall season.

Although this year’s cruises have come to an end, organizers say the Gas ‘N’ Gears Cruise will return next summer for another season of cars, community, and family fun.
