Nearly 600 Duquesne Light workers with IBEW Local 29 voted to authorize a strike

PITTSBURGH —

Duquesne Light workers with the IBEW Local 29 union could be going on strike, as their contract is set to expire Wednesday, according to a spokesman.

“Unless something changes drastically on the company’s end, there will be a work stoppage tomorrow at midnight,” IBEW Local 29 business manager Josh Ewing said in a statement Tuesday evening.

Earlier this month, nearly 600 workers voted to authorize a strike.
