A woman has died, officials said, after she was struck by a vehicle while walking in Center City Philadelphia on Wednesday morning.
According to police, a woman — who police did not immediately provide additional identifying information on — was killed when she was struck by a vehicle while walking at the intersection of 19th and Lombard streets at about 7 a.m. on Wednesday.
The woman was pronounced at the scene shortly after first responders arrived, officials said.
At the scene, NBC10’s SkyForce 10 saw police blocking the intersection during the morning commute while a dark-colored SUV could be seen parked near where the crash occurred.
However, officials said the driver involved in this crash stayed at the scene and was cooperating with police.
Officials have not said if the driver in this case could face charges, but police told NBC10 that the incident is not believed to be a DUI-related crash.
But, an investigation is ongoing.
NBC10 is working to learn more.
