Police responded to the 600 block of West Gordon Street around 6:53 p.m.

Officials say a 911 caller reported seeing the shooter running south on North Church Street.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Little lying on a side porch of his home, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced dead.

Investigators found 14 shell casings near the victim.

Several witnesses in the area provided police with descriptions of the shooter, as well as footage from private cameras.

The suspect was described as wearing a yellow ski mask, grey hoodie and white pants. The gunman was also wearing a distinctive pair of white and black New Balance sneakers, according to police.

Police say a witness who viewed the video recorded from the time of the shooting identified a man who could be seen wearing a greenish-yellow mask, a navy-blue jacket, light colored pants and black sneakers as Nieves.

Nieves could be seen walking directly toward the area where Little was shot, according to police.

Police searched Nieves’ apartment, where they said they found the distinctive New Balance sneakers that matched the footwear worn by the shooting suspect.

Police said they also found the other clothing and the greenish-yellow mask worn by the shooter while executing a search warrant at the residence.

A 9-millimeter handgun that contained ammunition of the same caliber and make as the shell casings found near the victim was also allegedly found during the search.

Nieves is in custody and is charged with a felony count of Criminal Homicide.

He is awaiting his arraignment.
