The Reading Science Center will celebrate its growing museum on Oct. 3 with a free day of hands-on science, special activities,and a ribbon cutting for its expanded exhibit space.

The project has added about 2,696 square feet of exhibit space, giving visitors more opportunities to explore, experiment and interact with science, officials said in a release

The expanded exhibit space is part of the center’s plan for continued growth at 645 Penn St. and has been made possible through support from the Pennsylvania Neighborhood Assistance Program, local businesses, donors and community partners.

The ribbon cutting and unveiling is schedule for noon.

Admission will be free all day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., courtesy of EnerSys.

EnerSys volunteers will help celebrate the occasion with special electrifying classroom activities for visitors in addition to a Spooky Science Investigation Station.
