The Church of St. Gregory, Clarks Green, was the setting Sept. 20, 2025, for the wedding of Alivia Alyse Plevyak and Anthony Michael Matsell, both of South Abington Twp. The bride is the daughter of Stephen and Gayle Plevyak, South Abington Twp. The bridegroom is the son of Anthony and Christine Matsell, South Abington Twp.

The Rev. John Lapera, pastor, officiated at the 2 p.m. ceremony.

Dr. Alexa Plevyak, Mountain Top, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Raina Plevyak, East Longmeadow, Mass., cousin of the bride; Gianna Hannon, South Abington Twp., cousin of the bride; Kate Noon, Horsham, Pa.; Amanda Weisenfluh, Shavertown; and Mary Kondash, Roaring Brook Twp.

Christian Matsell, Orlando, Fla., brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Ushers were Sajen Plevyak, East Longmeadow, Mass., cousin of the bride; Graham Hannon, South Abington Twp., cousin of the bride; Mickey Farry, Clarks Summit; RJ Longstreet, Scott Twp.; and Dr. Kristofer Muzzi, Philadelphia.

A reception was held at Stone Meadow Gardens, Clarks Summit.

The bride is a graduate of Abington Heights High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Misericordia University, Dallas. She earned a master’s degree in school psychology with a focus in applied behavior analysis and an educational specialist degree in school psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is a school psychologist in the Valley View School District, Archbald.

The bridegroom is also a graduate of Abington Heights High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Marywood University, Dunmore. He is currently pursuing licensure as an architect and is a designer for the architectural firm Fancy Parsley Architecture and Design, Scranton.

The couple met while students at Abington Heights Middle School, Clarks Summit.

The couple, who are planning a wedding trip in the future, reside in Clarks Summit.
