A Greenfield Twp. woman who accused her boyfriend of being controlling and manipulative attacked him after the two returned from an evening out on Friday, according to a criminal complaint.

Stephanie Altier, 41, of 110 Altier Lane, is charged with simple assault and harassment.

According to the complaint:

Altier got into an argument with Jonathan Pastore as the two were driving home from an event in Dunmore.

The argument started after Pastore questioned Altier’s interaction with another man and escalated when he asked to drive home because Altier was drunk.

He admitted he had also been drinking.

Pastore told police that, once they arrived home, Altier began throwing household items, including an Amazon Alexa device and home camera, and struck him several times in the head and neck.

Officers noted that Altier’s speech was slurred and delayed as she spoke with police.

When asked about injuries to her right hand and left knee, Altier told officers Pastore had struck her.

However, officers reviewed video footage from inside the residence which indicated Altier was injured as she threw objects around the room.

The footage also showed her throwing something at Pastore “with force.”

When asked if he had struck Altier, Pastore said he hadn’t.

He said he had stood near the sink with his hands raised to prevent being further injured.

Officers noted injuries to Pastore’s neck and behind his ear, which he said were a result of Altier hitting him.

When officers placed Altier under arrest, Pastore seemed surprised and asked if he could change his story.

Officers told him that they were arresting Altier based on “observed and documented evidence” and not his statements to officers.

As police were transporting Altier to the station, she told them Pastore was “controlling” and “manipulative.”

When reminded by an officer that that’s not a reason to attack someone, she responded, “Even with how he was manipulating me?”

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. on Oct. 20 before District Judge Paul Keeler.
