Trying to figure out how to get rid of those old electronics or household chemicals that are cluttering your basement or garage space? In Erie County, you have two more opportunities to do so this year.

The last two events for the Erie County Recycling Program’s 2026 series of Household Hazardous Waste and Electronic Collections are taking place in October and November.

This program provides Erie County residents with a safe way to dispose of electronics and hazardous waste that can’t be disposed of on the curb on garbage night.

These collection events are run by Noble Environmental and are a drive-thru only service.

If you plan on attending the event, you must register in advance to keep traffic flowing.

How to secure a spot at the Hazardous Waste and Electronic Collection events

To secure your spot with the collection events, residents can call Noble Environmental at 412-567-6566. You can also register on the Erie County Recycling page at eriecountypa.gov.

Do the collection events cost anything to participate?

Because special handling is required during these events to protect the local environment, there are fees included.

It will cost $0.50 per pound for electronics and chemicals. It will cost $5 per pound for propane cylinders.

On-site at the collection program

When you arrive on-site at the collection program, know that the event is contactless and drive-thru.

All materials must be placed in the trunk, back hatch or truck bed of your vehicle before arrival.

Once on site, participants will remain in their vehicles and follow the posted signage along with traffic cones to the designated drop-off area.

From there a staff member will unload the items for you, weigh them on a visible scale and confirm the final fee based on the rates.

Please label all chemicals and secure them in a sealed container no larger than five gallons. Different chemicals cannot be mixed in the same container.
