PITTSBURGH —
Crews have begun to install the second set of markers for the Pittsburgh Walk of Fame in the Strip District.
The installation will add 10 new people to the attraction, which debuted last October at the Strip District Terminal.
The Walk of Fame, founded by Nancy Polinski Johnson, highlights Pittsburghers who have made a mark on the nation’s cultural heritage.
This year’s honorees are Myron Cope, Martha Graham, Charles “Teenie” Harris, Franco Harris, H.J. Heinz, Shirley Jones, Mario Lemieux, Henry Mancini, Jimmy Stewart and George Westinghouse.
Mario Lemieux is scheduled to appear at the induction ceremony. Select individuals will be at the ceremony to accept the honor on behalf of the nine other inductees.
The plaques will be officially unveiled at the induction ceremony, which will take place next Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 10 a.m.
