PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — The Eagles may not have taken the field yet, but plenty of their fans have already landed in London ahead of this weekend’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The first wave of Eagles supporters arrived Wednesday as excitement continued to build for Sunday’s matchup at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Among those making the trip was Action News reporter Maggie Kent, who traveled overnight alongside a plane full of Eagles fans eager to bring Philadelphia’s energy across the Atlantic.

After a red-eye, a plane full of Eagles green is now spilling out into London to enjoy all of its culture before the Birds face off against the Jaguars.

Despite the long flight and jet lag, fans said they were ready to celebrate.

“I can’t wait for this plane to take off. It’s going to be a party in the sky,” one fan said.

Eagles fans are expected to fill London’s streets throughout the week as they prepare for the internationally televised matchup.

This will be the fourth NFL game being played in this city. The Eagles played at Wembley Stadium in 2018, and it was good luck. They beat the Jaguars 2418 in front of a crowd of nearly 86,000 fans. Sunday they’ll face the Jags again with hometown fans cheering them on.

This time, the game will be played at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where a sellout crowd of about 62,000 is expected.

While Eagles fans are known for traveling well, Jacksonville has established a strong following in the United Kingdom through years of participation in the NFL’s International Series.

Jacksonville has become a bit of a local team for the Brits. They played 15 times in London. Sunday’s game is sold out. Some 62,000 fans will pack Tottenham Stadium, including Steven Kelley.

“We travel so well, and that’s what it’s all about,” said Kelley of Sewell, New Jersey. “We’re loyal fans. We don’t give up.”
