PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A woman who shot and killed a SEPTA bus driver learned her fate in court on Friday.

A judge sentenced Zhontay Capers to between 32.5 and 67 years behind bars.

24-year-old Zhontay Capers admitted to killing 45-year-old Bernard Gribbin, who was shot while driving a Route 23 bus in October of 2023.

She pleaded guilty in August to third degree murder.

The shooting happened back on October 26th, 2023.

Bernard Gribbin, who was an Army veteran and longtime SEPTA driver, was shot and killed while operating his route 23 bus.
