LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Sign installation and construction is planned this week on Route 1, PennDOT said.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said the work takes place on Route 1 under a $116 million project to reconstruct, widen, and improve a three-mile section of the highway in Bensalem and Middletown townships.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather-dependent.

The work is part of PennDOT’s U.S. 1/RC2 contract that will reconstruct and widen U.S. 1 from south of the Rockhill Drive Interchange to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 Interchange.
