The Erie SeaWolves have been selected as the Eastern League finalist for the MiLB Together Award, an honor recognizing Minor League Baseball teams that demonstrate exceptional commitment to charitable service, community support, and leadership both on and off the field.
The SeaWolves, the Double-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, were chosen for their extensive community outreach efforts throughout the Erie region. According to SeaWolves President Greg Coleman, the recognition reflects the dedication of the organization’s staff, community partners, and fans.
The team’s award submission highlighted several initiatives launched in 2026, including the inaugural SeaWolves C.A.R.E. Week, which brought players and staff directly into the community for volunteer service projects. The organization also introduced the first SeaWolves Community Fund Classic golf tournament to further support local charitable efforts.
The submission emphasized the ongoing impact of the SeaWolves Community Fund, which has provided more than $250,000 in cash and in-kind support. The nonprofit also operates educational programs reaching more than 25,000 students each year and oversees the Chace Numata Scholarship Program, which assists college-bound student-athletes.
The SeaWolves Community Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on improving the lives of children and adults across the greater Erie region, with an emphasis on youth programs involving baseball, education, and wellness.
The winner of the MiLB Together Award will be announced October 13 during the MiLB Award Show at the MiLB Business Summit in Louisville, Kentucky.
