READING, Pa – Yet another online list is out, and some say it’s doing its job of getting people talking, or maybe more so clicking.

“Our folks around here that like satire, it adds another level, another satirical post.,” said Reading City Council President Donna Reed. “You can be much more productive other than sitting there typing away. Look at this clever comment I made.”

According to LawnStarter.com, a company that connects homeowners to lawn care services, Reading is just behind Los Angeles, batting “clean up” at number four for the Dirtiest Cities in America.

“I know you have some areas that are a little more problematic. You may have some souls who are homeless, maybe don’t clean up after themselves. Variety of issues,” Reed said.

Evidence of places that need cleaning can be found in every city, and here in Reading as well, but Reed points to places like behind Glenside Elementary.

“A school yard that’s in a neighborhood – how much trash do you see I picked up?” she said.

The lawn company says it looks at things like living conditions, pollution and reviews. Reed is encouraging people to step out from behind their screens.

“Maybe you want to do a little exercise. Get up around your neighborhood, whether you live in the city or not, pick up some things along the way,” explained Reed.
