Juicesiyah Alexander Ezekiel is trying to make sense of the senseless.
“I wouldn’t even put this on my worst enemy,” said Ezekiel. “It’s sickening.”
On Friday, his two-year-old daughter Amari’anna was one of nine people who were murdered in a mass shooting at a home off of East 7th and Perry Streets.
According to investigators, the gunman then committed suicide.
“It was my baby, bro, and he just took her,” said Ezekiel. “Her name was Amari’anna. She’s the most beautiful baby God could have created.”
His daughter’s death, only adding to ongoing trauma.
“I already got depression,” said Ezekiel. “I survived a homicide in Erie, PA, back in 2022….I’m dealing with all that on top of this now..”
According to Ezekiel, Angelina Stone—who is the mother of his child—was also killed, along with her unborn child, and her five-year-old son.
Ezekiel tells Erie News Now the gunman was Stone’s father.
“She was pregnant, about to have a baby in a couple of days and she had a daughter that was almost two, and her son Isaiah, who I believe was four or five,” said Ezekiel’s sister Lisa Simmers. “They are all just beautiful children and definitely did not deserve what happened to them.”
A GoFundME has been set up to help cover the funeral costs of Angelina and her children, whose lives were cut tragically short.
“We just want to make it right so that the respects are paid to them and they get the send-off they deserve,” said Simmers. “At the end of the day, what happened will be remembered for years. This is not something that the city will ever forget.”
