North Penn School District Veterans Day Graduation Ceremony

The North Penn School District Board of School Directors will confer high school diplomas to United States veterans who left high school before graduating to serve in the United States armed services.

The ceremony will be held on Veterans Day, Tuesday, November 11th, 2025. It is open to veterans currently living in the North Penn School District or who lived in NPSD before leaving high school for the armed services. Veterans do not need to have attended North Penn High School to qualify. Diplomas can also be conferred posthumously.

“This is one of the most meaningful things we do as a school district,” said Cathy McMurtrie, President of the NPSD Board of School Directors. “Awarding these diplomas is about more than fulfilling a requirement, it’s about recognizing the courage, commitment, and sacrifice of our veterans who left school to serve their country.”

Veterans or family members of veterans interested in participating should contact the NPSD Office of School/Community Services at 215-853-1020 by Friday, October 10th, to arrange for a diploma and participation in the ceremony. For verification purposes, copies of discharge papers will be requested for all of those participating.

“Our veterans made an incredible sacrifice by putting their education on hold to serve our country,” said Todd M. Bauer, Ed.D., NPSD Superintendent. “These diplomas come with deep gratitude, heartfelt respect, and the hope that each veteran knows they will always have a place of honor here at North Penn.”
