The last two events for the Erie County Recycling Program’s 2026 series of Household Hazardous Waste and Electronic Collections are scheduled to take place Oct. 17 at Summit Township Municipal Garage (8900 Old French Road) and Nov. 14 at the Greene Township Building (9333 Tate Road).
This program provides Erie County residents with a safe way to dispose of electronics and hazardous waste that can’t be disposed of on the curb on garbage night.
If you plan on attending the event, you must register in advance to keep traffic flowing. Residents can register by calling Noble Environmental at 412-567-6566. You can also register on the Erie County Recycling page at eriecountypa.gov.
How much does Erie County’s collection cost?
Electronics and chemicals cost 50 cents per pound. Propane cylinders cost $5 per pound.
At the collection site, workers will remove the materials from the vehicle and weigh them on a visible scale. The participant’s final charge will be based on the reported rates and the weight of the items.
What electronics and chemicals can residents bring?
Accepted electronics include:
ComputersMonitorsTelevisionsPrintersSmall appliances
The program also accepts hazardous materials including paint, automotive fluid, pesticides and household cleaners.
Residents should not bring explosives, ammunition, radioactive material or large appliances such as refrigerators and washers. The complete list is available through the Erie County Recycling page.
How should electronics and chemicals be packed?
All materials must be placed in the trunk, back hatch or truck bed before arriving at the Summit Township Municipal Garage.
Chemicals must be labeled and secured in sealed containers no larger than five gallons. Different chemicals cannot be mixed in the same container.
What happens at the drive-thru collection?
Participants must remain inside their vehicles and follow the signs and traffic cones leading to the drop-off area.
A staff member will unload and weigh the materials before confirming the fee. The collection is operated by Noble Environmental as a contactless, drive-thru service.
Erie County’s final scheduled household hazardous-waste and electronics collection of 2026 will be Nov. 14 at the Greene Township Building, 9333 Tate Road. Advance registration also is required for that event.
