ISAAC RYON, Lackawanna Trail

The senior did it again in the District 2 Class 1A championship game. He ran for 319 yards on 19 carries and scored five touchdowns in a 41-14 win over Tri-Valley in the District 2-11 Class 1A subregional final. He set LIAA records for touchdowns in a season (49) and points in a season (317), and broke the school career rushing record (4,724 yards).

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

DYLAN LOOMIS, Lakeland

The sophomore led the defensive team that shut out Dunmore until 3:31 left in the fourth quarter, had 11 tackles, a sack for minus-7 yards, and a quarterback rush in a 27-7 win in the District 2 Class 2A championship game. Lakeland limited Dunmore, which averaged 357.0 total yards per game entering the final, to 228 total yards.

HIDDEN HERO

OWEN DADURKA, Scranton Prep

The senior two-way lineman helped the Cavaliers dominate the line of scrimmage in a 42-7 win over Berwick in the District 2 Class 3A championship game. Scranton Prep ran for 145 yards on 24 carries and limited the Bulldogs, who were averaging 45.5 points per game, to just 7, which came in the third quarter.

REAGAN DECKER, Delaware Valley

The senior has had an outstanding season, and he came through with three extra points and field goals of 21 yards in the final seconds of the first half, and one of 28 yards in the third quarter, to help propel the Warriors to a 27-24 win over Abington Heights in the District 2 Class 5A championship game.

PLAY OF THE WEEK

MIKE IUZZOLINO, Delaware Valley

The senior batted away a pass on a fourth-and-5 in the back of the end zone that secured Delaware Valley’s 27-24 comeback win in the District 2 Class 5A championship game. He also scored on a 3-yard run with 11:55 left in the fourth quarter to give the Warriors their first and final lead.

COLE WEST, North Pocono

The junior made plays in all three phases of North Pocono’s convincing 38-6 win over Dallas in the District 2 Class 4A championship game. He had a rushing touchdown, a kickoff return for a touchdown, and a leaping interception in the victory.

Delaware Valley 27, Abington Heights 24

In a battle between two of the top big-school teams in District 2, Abington Heights built a 17-0 lead with 8:46 left in the second quarter and a 24-7 lead with 3:26 left in the half. Delaware Valley rallied for 10 points in the final 54.5 seconds of the second quarter and outscored the Comets, 10-0, in the second half to win the District 2 Class 5A championship for the third time in four seasons.
