The park has brought the community together since 1893.

SCRANTON, Pa. — If you’ve ever taken a trip to the Electric City, you’ve probably stumbled upon Nay Aug Park.

The park in Scranton has been welcoming visitors since 1893.

This year, volunteers decided to give back to the historic grounds using some community fun.

Visitors came out for family-friendly activities, including face and pumpkin painting.

Proceeds from the event will go towards future park improvements.

“Our mission is to enhance and improve Nay Aug Park for this generation and future generations. It’s a beautiful, beautiful 73-acre park in Scranton,” says Mary Joe Preno, event coordinator.

Organizers say future improvements include upgrading existing structures and building a grand entrance.
