Another brewpub has closed at a historic property in the Lehigh Valley.

Slate Belt Brewing Co. closed recently at 50 Broadway in Bangor, co-owner Tim Kerrigan said in a written statement. It opened February 2025.

“At Slate Belt Brewing in Bangor we received very positive feedback on our beer, food and cocktails but there just wasn’t enough revenue to consistently cover our operating costs,” Kerrigan said. “Ultimately it made personal and financial sense to move on from the business and close our doors. What we were successful at was giving the community a place to come relax and enjoy life. We made many new friends, had a ton of laughs and hosted many great musicians. We have no regrets.”

Kerrigan previously said the property was constructed in the early 1900s. It hosted Bangor Trust Brewing until that business closed in 2022.

“There continues to be a vibrant beer and food community across the Lehigh Valley and we’re happy to sit on the other side of the bar for now and ponder our next move,” Kerrigan said.
