The goal of ‘Street Soccer USA-Philly’ is to provide athletic mentorship to the area

FISHTOWN (PHILADELPHIA), Pennsylvania (WPVI) — Street Soccer USA has grown from a small project in North Carolina to receiving its own chapter right here in Philadelphia.

Their goal is to enhance the lives of individuals in cities across the country, serving struggling populations.

Through the game of soccer, they hope to build one another up, and create lifelong bonds.

“This organization is a nationwide nonprofit…The mission is to help fight poverty, to provide soccer for people who can not afford to play,” said Coach Jehbleh Wilson Jah.

While they have served hundreds of children, the program also has offerings for adult athletes as well.

“I think it’s important for these kids to be able to communicate, whether it be how they feel or to make new friends, be out and get to know oneself and know the people around them,” said Cameron Robinson, Director of Communications of Street Soccer USA-Philly.
