WHITEHALL TWP, Pa. – The owner of a popular sandwich shop in Lehigh County is demanding answers from officials who told him to shut down not long after opening.

Chade Sankari, who owns SMP Steaks on Schadt Avenue in Whitehall Township, says he’ll be at the Zoning Hearing Board meeting tonight to make his case heard.

He says he was told he now needs a restaurant permit after all his other permits for the shop were approved, and if he doesn’t get one, he’ll be forced to close.

69 News has reached out to zoning officials, but has not heard back.

Tuesday night’s meeting starts at 7 p.m. and is open to the public.
