The University of Scranton recently welcomed an international diplomat as a guest lecturer.

Mateusz Sakowicz, Consul General of the Republic of Poland in New York, spoke Friday, Nov. 7, at the Rose Room inside Brennan Hall.

Sakowicz presented, “Global Insight from Poland’s Consul General,” as part of the University’s Schemel Forum World Affairs Luncheon Seminars series.

Sakowicz has worked in diplomatic relations for nearly 20 years. He assumed his current position in July 2024 after previously serving about four years as Deputy Permanent Representative of Poland to the United Nations in New York. Prior to that, he was awarded the Bronze Cross of Merit in 2019 for his diplomatic service.
