A Forest County man sentenced to 50-100 years in prison for raping a homeless woman in Allentown faces more prison time after being found guilty of assaulting a corrections officer at Lehigh County Jail.
Felix Javier Pagan, 41, of Marienville was convicted Tuesday on charges of aggravated assault and simple assault in the incident that happened Oct. 30, Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin Holihan said in a news release.
Pagan was asked by a corrections officer to remove his clothes for a body search as part of the jail’s procedure to ensure inmates were not bringing in contraband that could injurie staff or fellow inmates, the release states. Pagan refused and punched the guard in the face and head multiple times, authorities said. Jail staff intervened and helped the officer.
Pagan faces a possible sentence of six to 12 years in prison, the DA said.
Pagan was sentenced to 50-100 years in prison in July for raping a woman in Allentown in January 2022. He was convicted in November of charges of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and strangulation.
