OBITUARY
Glenn A. “Chooch” Moyer, 70, of Ontelaunee Twp., passed away Monday, August 18, 2025 in his residence. He was the husband of Kathie L. “Cookie” (Lorah) Moyer. They were married June 26, 1976 and celebrated 49 years of marriage.
Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late Charles D. Moyer, Sr., and Leah N. (Schaefer) Moyer. He graduated from Reading High School in 1972. Glenn worked for Empire Wrecking for 42 years until retirement. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, and playing softball. He had driven a micro sprint car years ago; and a soapbox derby car. He also participated in pit crews at Reading Fairgrounds. Glenn was a true family man who loved his family; he was always willing to help others. He was a member of Labor Union No. 1174, Allentown.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a daughter: Marcie M. (Moyer) Machemer, wife of Randy, Ontelaunee Twp.; two grandsons: Mason and Gaven; a “bonus daughter” Denise L. Deisher, Ontelaunee Twp.; and his lifetime friend: Steve “BZ” Beisswanger. He was predeceased by his siblings: Charles D. “Sonny” Moyer, Jr., Geraldine (Moyer) Fidler, Elnora “Sis” (Moyer) Dinino, and Leah “Tootie” (Moyer) Lewis.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 10:30 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport, PA 19533. Burial will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:30 am in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to: Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N Michigan Ave. Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601
