PARIS — Asked about a tackle for loss he had Sunday, Kevin Jobity Jr. wasn’t going to take credit for something he did not deserve.

“I don’t remember having a TFL,” the Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman said. “I might have just been in on a tackle one of my boys had.”

Sure enough, in the hours after the game — a 16-10 Steelers win against the New Orleans Saints — the NFL’s official statkeepers removed Jobity’s tackle from the record.

No matter, Jobity had a ball. After all, it was his NFL debut.

”It was awesome, man,” Jobity said from Stade de France after the game. “I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time. So just a huge blessing. I’m thankful I had my brothers out there supporting me the whole way. So it was great.”

Per Pro Football Focus, Jobity played five snaps on defense and 10 on special teams. He was in uniform because of injuries to veteran defensive linemen Derrick Harmon (foot) and Sebastian Joseph-Day (triceps).

Jobity, an undrafted rookie from Syracuse, was inactive for the first six games.

Steelers inactives

The Steelers had already announced via the league-mandated injury report on Friday that receiver Ben Skowronek (calf) and cornerback Brandin Echols (hamstring) would not play against the Saints. As a result of the injuries at receiver, the Steelers on Saturday announced the elevation of receivers Brandon Johnson and Brandon Smith from the practice squad to be in uniform in Paris.

The Steelers’ healthy scratches against the Saints were quarterback Drew Allar, cornerback Terrel Smith and running back Eli Heidenreich. Will Howard served in his typical role as the “emergency” No. 3 quarterback.

Saints inactives

Inactive for the Saints were quarterback Zach Wilson, safety Mike Reid, guard Cesar Ruiz, tight end Treyton Welch, defensive linemen Nathan Shepherd and John Ridgeway III and edge rusher Tyree Wilson.
