MILTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Milton City Council on Tuesday night unanimously passed the first reading of an ordinance, creating safeguards before the city can develop or use surveillance technology like Flock cameras.
It would do things like require council approval and public input before buying, borrowing or seeking funding for surveillance tech plus posting use policies online, detailing impacts on civil rights, and a public complaint process.
The measure now moves to a second reading.
