Pennie, Pennsylvania’s health care marketplace, will open for enrollment on Nov. 1, providing coverage options for residents without other insurance.
To ensure new coverage begins on Jan. 1, individuals must enroll by Dec. 15. Pennie offers health care plans and federal premium tax credits to lower costs based on income.
“Pennie is the only place to get federal premium tax credits to lower the cost of coverage,” said Devon Trolley, executive director of Pennie. “These tax credits are based on what you make, so what you pay for coverage is based on your income. Most people pay under $100 a month for comprehensive policies that would otherwise cost six or seven times that amount.”
Many Pennsylvanians qualify for tax credits to help reduce monthly costs.
