“Great food should be simple, joyful, and full of flavor — and it should feel like home,” reads a message on the business’ website.
“At Love & Honey Fried Chicken, we hand-dredge our buttermilk fried chicken and fry it in small batches for freshness, pairing it with scratch-made sauces and desserts that truly hit the spot. With the warmth of true hospitality and attention to every detail, every meal is crafted with LOTS OF LOVE, LITTLE BIT OF HONEY.”
Love & Honey Fried Chicken was co-founded by Todd and Laura Lyons, entrepreneurs who believed as a team, they “could and would build something that would have an extraordinary impact,” according to an online account.
The couple has extensive restaurant and hospitality experience dating back to their teenage years, with Todd having washed dishes at a country club beginning at age 14 and Laura having worked the retail counter at a neighborhood restaurant beginning at age 17.

They both received formal culinary training at the Culinary Institute of America, and after school, Laura worked as a chef for many years before finding her calling in brand building and culinary marketing, according to the online account. She later returned to the Culinary Institute of America as its national director of Food Enthusiast Programs.
Todd climbed the ranks as a chef for Aramark Corporation at Citizens Bank Park and Lincoln Financial Stadium before landing a prominent role as a senior research and development chef at Campbell Soup Company.
In 2015, the Lyonses began working to open what would become Love & Honey Fried Chicken.
The couple was brainstorming potential concepts, and they eventually decided on fried chicken after it was suggested by friends.
“The more we thought about it, we realized that at the time, the southern-style fried chicken market for something more than fast-food was pretty bare,” the online account continues.
“What if we brought the skills and techniques of professional chefs to comfort food like fried chicken? It clicked. Our friends were right.”
In 2026, Love & Honey Fried Chicken’s footprint is continuing to grow with new or coming-soon locations in Philadelphia; Brooklyn, New York; Alexandria, Virginia; and Princeton, New Jersey, according to the business’ franchising page.
More than 30 other franchises have been awarded for other parts of the country, including three in the Lehigh Valley and other regional areas such as Doylestown and Bristol, Bucks County; and King of Prussia, Montgomery County.
