WEST READING, Pa. — A little Spider-Man joined superheroes and plenty of other characters moving from stop to stop along Penn Avenue in West Reading during a Trunk-or-Treat event Friday evening.
“It’s very exciting. There’s so many people out here,” attendee Joseph Cruz said. “We just came out to have a good time, and everybody here is just happy.”
Some people came for the candy. Mary Napoli came ready to dance—and she pulled 69 News reporter José Martínez in to join her.
“Because I’m all about fun, and Halloween is fun,” Napoli said.
The fun continues Saturday with West Reading’s hayride, haunted house and Pumpkin Fest, where an artist will spend up to 10 hours carving a 700-pound pumpkin.
Over at Classic Harley-Davidson, motorcycles, cars and trucks will become candy stops during another Trunk-or-Treat. That event will also help the Animal Rescue League find one lucky dog a new home.
“This is our fourth annual Trunk-or-Treat with Animal Rescue League,” said Kyle McBain of Classic Harley-Davidson. “We try and do this every year to help get pets adopted through Animal Rescue League. We actually sponsor an adoption for a dog.”
The free event will also include treats for pets and a poker run for adults. The Classic Harley-Davidson event runs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday.
In West Reading, Pumpkin Fest runs from noon until 11 p.m., and the haunted house will be open from 7 until 9 p.m.
