Joanne Coffin E. Cihylik
OBITUARY
Joanne E. Cihylik (nee Coffin) of Allentown, PA, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2026. She was 95 years old.
Joanne led a long, adventurous, fulfilling life. She and her late husband, Stefan, traveled the world together, immersing themselves in a plethora of exciting cultures. They rode elephants, filled their home with exotic handmade souvenirs, and even stood in the Dalai Lama’s bedroom.
Joanne was a therapist who helped hundreds of people navigate their difficulties, especially abused children. She advocated and provided care for clients suffering from AIDS when others refused. She continued providing therapy up until her passing. She was also very active in the Civil Rights Movement, including working with the Civil Rights leader, Medgar Evers.
Joanne will be missed dearly by many friends and family. She is survived by her son, Stefan and his wife Tammy; her daughter Valerie and granddog, Pumpkin; and her great nephew, Nate.
