SALISBURY TWP., Pa. – You can get protected from the flu this season without even getting out of your car.

Lehigh Valley Health Network, part of Jefferson Health, is hosting its annual free, drive-thru clinics.

Dr. Alex Benjamin visited 69 News at Sunrise to tell us more.

LVHN is offering its free drive-thru clinics Saturday, Nov. 7 and Sunday, Nov. 8. Saturday’s event will be held at Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

LVHN will hold its Sunday event at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Hecktown Oaks from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Benjamin said cases are increasing. He advises not to wait to get your flu shot this year.

He said anybody six months or older is eligible to get the shot.

He talked about the biggest myths about the flu shot. He said the vaccine cannot give you the infection itself. If you are feeling rundown after getting the shot, it’s a sign your immune system is doing its job.

The symptoms should resolve quickly, he said.

At least 200 people died from the flu last year in Pennsylvania, he said.
