DELAWARE COUNTY, Pa. (WPVI) — An agency that serves thousands of Delaware County students is under scrutiny.

Pennsylvania Auditor General Tim DeFoor released findings from a performance audit of Delaware County Intermediate Unit.

He says the agency used money to pay for lavish retreats and meals for executives.

DeFoor called the spending by the organization “reckless” at a time when education funding is a challenge.

The agency is funded by local, state, and federal programs.

There were 21 recommendations issued.

Action News has reached out to the agency and are waiting to hear back.
