HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHP) — Money from skill games interests continue to be a large source of funding for Stacy Garrity’s campaign for Pennsylvania governor, according campaign finance records.

In the days following the cycle 5 campaign finance deadline, the Garrity campaign has received around $900,000 in donations from people and organizations that have ties to skill games.

Most of those donations came from the Pennsylvania Amusement and Music Machine Association (PAMMA). The group describes itself as an organization that “represents the operators and businesses behind Pennsylvania’s vibrant, coin-operated amusement industry. From skill games, jukeboxes, and arcade machines to pool tables, darts, and ATMs, PAMMA keeps it local to keep you informed.”

The donations were disclosed in daily reports that started on Oct. 20 and were made after the Oct. 19 campaign finance deadline.

In that previous report, the Garrity campaign received $4.5 million from skill games interests, including $2 million from the group.

Garrity has said the money does not impact her stance on skill games, and it has not changed from previous news articles before the donations were made. Her campaign issued this statement when asked about the money:

The Treasurer has been clear from the start that negotiations on resolving the impasse on skill games must keep the VFWs, American Legions, and scores of Pennsylvania small businesses in mind. Josh Shapiro’s, on the other hand, is in the pocket of the casino and betting industry, specifically Michael Rubin. Stacy Garrity is on the side of Pennsylvania Veterans and small businesses.

The Republican is running against Gov. Josh Shapiro, who did not receive donations like that from skill games interests.

A spokesperson for the Shapiro campaign wrote in a statement:

Stacy Garrity is raking in millions in contributions from special interest groups to try and save her disastrous campaign as she and her Senate Republican allies block progress for Pennsylvania. Garrity’s desperation and willingness to sell out our Commonwealth is clear — and we’re going to keep holding her accountable every day until election day.
