READING, Pa. – This Halloween, The Candy Factory of Reading is hosting a “Spooktacular Community Bash.”
“We’re going to be giving out tons of candy for Halloween,” said Edgardo Ortiz, an owner of The Candy Factory.
Ortiz said they bought more than 100 cases of 70 different kinds of candy.
It’s all to hand out to children this weekend and all for free.
“We’re going to have about 12 tables set up out there for all the kids with different types of candy that they can pick, choose from,” Ortiz said.
Candy isn’t all they’ll be offering.
They’ll also have face painting, toys and a costume contest.
“We’re all dressing up in costumes, and we’re all going to be out there with the kids. So, it’s going to be awesome,” Ortiz said.
He said this huge trick-or-treat bash is a way to give back to their community.
“I want them to get to experience, like, everything we had when we were kids,” Ortiz said.
The store’s goal is to make this Halloween one to remember.
“We’re definitely excited,” Ortiz said.
The Spooktacular Community Bash will take place this Saturday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Candy Factory, 11 S. Fifth St., Reading.
