The Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League have announced an affiliation agreement with the Fort Erie Meteors of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League.
The partnership, revealed Tuesday Nov. 11 by general managers Dave Brown and Nikolas Passero, creates a development pipeline for Otters prospects and draft picks to play in Fort Erie, just 103 miles from Erie.
Otters Director of Hockey Operations Scott Grieve praised the Meteors’ strong track record in player development and expressed excitement about building a long-term relationship.
Meteors head coach and GM Nikolas Passero called the affiliation “a tremendous step” for his program, offering athletes a clear path to the next level. Current Otters prospects Colton Radford and Alex Masotti are already playing with the Meteors.
Founded in 1957, the Meteors are a Junior B team and a founding member of the GOHL, while the Otters, established in 1996, compete in the OHL and maintain a strong commitment to community and player growth.
Both organizations view the agreement as a strategic move to strengthen regional hockey development and future success.
