Knights of Columbus Council 7622, sponsored by Sacred Heart of Mary Church, Jermyn, established a scholarship program to benefit a graduating eighth grade student from LaSalle Academy in Jessup who will be continuing their Catholic education at either Holy Cross High School or Scranton Preparatory School. This is the fifth year of the program. The student receiving the $1,000 scholarship was selected using criteria developed by LaSalle Academy and Council 7622, which included academics, leadership, financial need, courage, honor, patriotism, service to God and community.
