PHILADELPHIA – A Philadelphia Highway Patrol officer crashed while participating in a motorcycle motorcade for a local charity event on Thursday.

What we know:

A fleet of motorcycle officers from the Philadelphia Police Department’s Highway Patrol and Traffic Division were on the way to Preston and Steve’s Campout for Hunger when the crash occurred on I-95.

Footage from SkyFOX shows the motorcycle officer passing a van stopped on the shoulder of the road just before the crash happened. 

The motorcade abruptly stopped and officers rushed to provide aid.

What we don’t know:

The condition of the officer is unknown at this time.
