The mother of Philadelphia Eagles running back and Whitehall High School alumnus Saquon Barkley will relocate her apparel resale store this week to Allentown.
Mama B Resale Boutique will host a grand reopening Saturday at 107 N. Seventh St., the store announced in a news release.
Tonya Johnson opened the store in March at 416 E. Fourth St. in Bethlehem, selling new and gently used items such as shirts, pants, footwear and children’s clothing.
The Hamilton Street location is an updated space to meet retail needs and be more accessible for local families.
Johnson previously said she opened the store in part because she wanted to increase the original area’s diversity after seeing a lack of Black-owned businesses, and to provide a resource of affordable clothing for nearby college students.
The move comes after a recent, sold-out inaugural Hurdles for Hope gala in Philadelphia, which raised funds for the Michael Ann & Saquon Barkley Hope Foundation. The nonprofit benefits underserved youth, women and families in Pennsylvania.
