The Federal Aviation Administration has lifted a ground stop for arriving flights at Philadelphia International Airport after a ship in the Delaware River briefly prevented incoming planes from landing.
An airport spokesperson said a ship anchored in the river obstructed the view of approaching planes on one of the airport’s runways for landing. A ground stop was issued until around 5:30 p.m. Friday and was lifted shortly after.
Chopper 3 was over the Delaware River, showing a large ship in the river near the airport.

The ground stop did not impact departures from PHL, the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said a tugboat arrived at the scene and helped move the ship up the river.
